LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 18, 2006)
- Dean, Dorton & Ford, PSC, is pleased to announce
the addition of David L. Lowe, Chris A. Humphrey, Michael
D. McCreary, Michael C. Coomes, and Melanie H. Dugas
to the Dean, Dorton & Ford team. Each is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.
David L. Lowe, who joins as
Consultant, has over thirty-six years of public accounting
experience, principally in tax planning and compliance
for businesses and individuals. While representing clients
in many industry areas, his emphasis has been in the
construction/real estate, health care, and equine accounting
areas. Lowe also works in estate and gift planning and
financial planning for individuals and small businesses.
Lowe is a member of the Thoroughbred Club of America
and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.
Chris A. Humphrey, who joins
as Director of Tax Services and a shareholder in the
firm, has nearly twenty-five years of experience, both
in public and private accounting. His extensive professional
experience in the auditing, consulting, controllership,
and taxation areas includes nonprofit clients and for-profit
entities in the following industries: manufacturing,
construction, real estate development, Thoroughbred
horse, standardbred horse, show horse, agricultural,
insurance, legal, dental, and medical. Humphrey is a
member of The Alternative Board (Certified Facilitator),
the Central Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Financial Managers
Group. Humphrey is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.
Michael W. "Mickey" Coomes,
who joins as Tax Supervisor, has over twenty-one years
experience in U.S. Individual, Corporate, Partnership,
and Fiduciary tax compliance. Coomes has experience
in working with the equine, health care, and construction/real
estate industries. Coomes is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky
University.
Melanie H. Dugas, who joins
as Manager of Client Accounting and Payroll Services,
has over twelve years of experience in accounting. Dugas
began her career in corporate accounting and later transitioned
to equine accounting. Dugas is a member of our equine
industry team and is a member of the Kentucky Equine
Education Project. Dugas is a graduate of Alice Lloyd
College.
Michael D. McCreary, who joins
as Tax Manager, has over eleven years of public accounting
experience, primarily in the tax area. McCreary provides
tax planning and compliance services to corporate and
individual tax clients in various industries. McCreary
is a member and current treasurer of the Bluegrass Crime
Stoppers Organization. McCreary is a graduate of Georgetown
College.
